Unni Marie Gulla Heltne gave a lecture during the Finnish ROHKEE! project’s closing webinar. The Foundation and the project team did an outstanding job supporting children, young people, and parents arriving from crisis areas. Amongst the initiatives of the project, TRT was also used to provide participants with important coping skills.

On the 28th of february trhough the 2nd of march, Children and War Foundation completed an online TRT-training in English with participants from several countries.

A new study shows that TRT is the most effective intervention available for use by non-clinicians.

Towards the end of last year, there was a celebration of the work and life of CAW’s co-founder professor Bill Yule.

Children and War Foundation is co-operating with UNICEF Palestine and Children and War UK to provide support to mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) practitioners in Gaza.

In February 2025, Children and War Foundation conducted two training courses on Teaching Recovery Techniques (TRT) in Gaza, Palestine for 42 psychosocial support facilitators. The participants will be able to use TRT as part of their psychosocial work for children and families exposed to and affected by the war trauma in Gaza.

Children and War Foundation conducted three training courses on Teaching Recovery Techniques in Cairo, Egypt for 64 facilitators working with Palestinian families and children who were displaced from Gaza because of the war.

Two three-day TRT trainings were delivered online to MHPSS workers and volunteers located in the Syria in November and December.

We are happy to announce that Children and War Foundation has entered into an agreement the Kavli Trust regarding the project Helping traumatised children cope.

In August we completed an online traning i Arabic with 86 participants.

Professor Ian Barron and Dr Ghassan Abdallah have conducted a study to evaluate the efficacy of the Children and Greif Manual for Palestinian adolescents.

This August, Children and War Foundation completed an online TRT-training in English with participants from many countries, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Sudan and Bosnia.

Our collaborating partner, Mental Health and Human Rights Info (HHRI), organized a two- days training in June in Oslo in Teaching Recovery Techniques (TRT) for 10 helpers.
