For some time, the Foundation has been concerned about the plight of unaccompanied minors whose applications for refugee status have failed. These minors are increasingly being returned to their countries of origin by European governments. This concern is shared by the Norwegian Ombudsman for Children, Reidar Hjermann (photo).
To date, the Foundation has been unable to obtain satisfactory information about what happens to these children when they arrive back “home”.
The Foundation has prepared a reference list with links to relevant links addressing the rights and to a lesser extent the needs of migrant children. This will enable child advocates and clinicians to access the most relevant literature.
We welcome information on additional resources.
