190 listeners heard Mads Gilbert and Åsne Seierstad fiery messages Tuesday evening at Hotel Norge prior to the foundation’s benefit performance at Ole Bull Scene.
The author Åsne Seierstad talked about her research on her latest book, The angel of Grozny, and read out some passages which described how one of the children were affected by the war.
- My editor who has five children didn’t believe children could act the way these children did, so I sent the script to Magne Raundalen who confirmed that the script was probable, Seierstad said.
Then she left the stage for the physician Mads Gilbert who gave an eyewitness account from Palestine as well as talking about how the situation is affecting the children with a passionate voice.
- Do something!, was his message to the audience.
The author and physician then left to attend the benefit performance which featured local artists and comedians such as Christine Hope, Fargespill, Nordic tenors, Les Misérables, Bjørn Jensen and Tore Sivertsen.
